Code of Ethics

For whom this code of ethics is intended?

All registered psychologists, regardless of their status, sector or work rules, are legally bound to the professional code of ethics. This code outlines the rules of conduct registered psychologists have to respect. It offers them a guideline for an ethically correct professional practice.

What are the objectives of the code of ethics?

The code of ethics serves two major objectives:

  1. Protection of the public: thanks to the rules of conduct, clients of registered psychologists are better protected against actions that do not belong in a psychologist-client relationship.
  2. The professionalization of the profession of psychologist: the code of ethics of a psychologist forms the value and normative framework of his/her professional actions. By guaranteeing the quality of his/her services, the code contributes to the dignity and integrity of the profession of psychologist.
